Mile, 1500 Meter and 1600 Meter Training

The mile, 1600 meter and 1500 meter are some of the most exciting races to both run and watch. It is a race distance that requires speed, aerobic endurance, mental toughness and sound race strategy. Physiologically speaking it is one the most challenging distances because it requires a high VO2 max, significant cardiovascular endurance, the ability to deal with the effects of lactic acid, good running strength and high top end speed. The mile isn't just for mid distance runners. Running the mile or 1500 meters on a regular basis can improve your ability as a longer distance runner in the 5K, 10K, half marathon and even marathon distance.
