Interval Training

 

 

One of the best training workouts for any race distance is the race itself. One of the most important training rules is the rule of specificity. That rule states that your training should closely match your goal. No workout does a better job of satisfying that rule than actually running in your goal race. In a perfect world you could do a goal distance, goal pace workout every day. Unfortunately it's not a perfect world and the elements of fatigue won't allow you complete that high of a workload every day. That's where interval training comes in.
