3 Hour 00 Minute Marathon Training Program - Basic Competitive Level


The 3 hour marathon barrier is a important goal for many marathon runners. Completing a 3 hour marathon requires a very specific training program and schedule. This is a 3 hour marathon training program that was written specifically for a 3 hour marathon finish. Every workout in this 3 hour marathon training program includes the exact paces needed to get you to your 3 hour goal. There is a program overview, an 8 week marathon training build up schedule, a 20 week fully detailed marathon training schedule, a strength training program and a chapter on race strategy.

This program is for basic level competitive runners that are new to competitive marathon running or have only a basic experience level with competitive marathon running and racing. This marathon plan includes workouts on 4 to 6 days per week. The 8 week build up schedule requires the ability to run at least 3 to 4 miles. The 20 week marathon schedule begins with a long run of 12 miles and builds up to 23 miles with about half of those miles at goal pace. High intensity interval training and lactate turn point workouts are consistently included as well as hill training runs.
